Default There IS a clock--well sort of

I got this fun little pop-up when I tried to open up my Zune software:

While I'm sure, it's not a surprise to most, this confirms that the Zune does in fact have a clock and it already is set to synchronize with the computer (Microsoft's computer that is). As such, it is pretty likely for Microsoft to add into the Zune the same type of thing they did with "community" between firmwares 1.1 and 1.2, putting a clock menu off of the front page of the Zune. I'm surprised this hasn't been posted before (at least not what I've found).

it's funny, because i just plugged my zune in to charge and the software opened and i got this pop-up also. Disappointing to me that there was no clock visible on the zune.

it says it needs to update to sync some protected files. this may give us a way around the subscription time problem. i got this pop-up also, after i ran the zune battery pretty dead, and then it stayed off for a while. by looking at packets when this occurs, someone could probably make a program to send packets back to the zune software, like if it were the microsoft site, and then set the zune's clock back like, a few years, and then your music wont expire.

The clock is there so the Zune can keep track of expired zune pass downloads and 3 plays/3 days. I bet if it weren't for that, MS wouldn't have programmed the clock.

This is good. This means that a clock application in the next firmware update is at least feasable. Now all we have to do is wait.

BTW - My Zune Pass expire like two weeks ago, and by turning off my internet before I open the Zune program, I can sync to my Zune without all of my expired songs being deleted.

Has anybody considered that since it has the 3x day/play protection... that it HAS to have a clock? I think they disabled it so you couldn't just reset the clock and have the music forever... but that's just my opinion
