I'd love to see someone make an adapter to allow a Zune to directly connect to any of the MANY iPod accessories. At this point though I am content with trying this on my own, the issue is getting the connectors. Does anyone have a source for both?

Appreciate the link. I found some more info on this and it seems I might be opening a can of worms right now. I am going to hang in there a bit longer to see if someone makes something that we can use a little more plug and play. Last thing I want is to blow up my zune.

has anyone tried to make a video cable for this. I just think that the amount of money the actual cable costs is crazy

I had bought a generic "IPod Video Cable" from Wal-Mart which was less then $10 and works perfectly! You should try it!

Agreed, I picked up a white cable from Walmart around $9 and it works perfect for video output, and the cable is white in color.

Yes it is possible, in fact the Zune Dock does just that. Basically just take the pinouts and attach them to a headphone jack, or simply reattach a new one to the top

you can, that is basically what the Zune dock does. Or you can simply use one out the headphone jacl.
