Dear n00bs, morons, eliterets, blind.
Okay, this is for those people as stated above. There are 3 versions of XNA 3.0: All xna has 3.0 XNA CTP -No ccgame packager -Source code needed -Doesn't work with Zune 3.0 XNA BETA -ccgame packer -Source code insisted. -Works with Zune 3.0 not 2.0- XNA FINAL -Most games released wth ccgame packager -Source code needed for other developers -Works with Zune 3.0 We are currently on the FINAL.. so that means the when some one says XNA3.0 it means the final. You WILL need to uninstall the previous version to install the new version. So lets say you never updated your zune since 2.0. You will need to uninstall XNA BETA and install XNA FINAL again. All of the ccgames MUST! MUST! MUST! install Microsoft Visual C#, and XNA FINAL. That is the jist of it. Developers tell me if something is missing, and I will add it. Thankx! ALSO: All of the people asking programmers to upgrade games to 3.0FINAL, Not happening, you will NEED to be patient and wait for the creator to upgrade the game! We ALSO don't know when they will update their game, SO STOP ASKING! Love, Catnat109 Last edited by catnat109; 11-15-2008 at 12:36 AM.. |

Since I downloaded the XNA game studio when the first games started coming out, I think having my XNA game studio on an older version is the reason why i cant unpack the .ccgame files...
How would I delete the older version and put the final version in place? And could you post a link to the XNA Final? Last edited by scorpio544; 02-08-2009 at 01:24 AM.. |

No update from beta to final is needed if you deploy using the source code. Otherwise only the developer can update it, unless you hack it like Truck did with ZuneHero Revamped.

Yeah, updating from beta to final requires nothing but a recompile. However, the .xnb (content file) format was changed from beta to final and .ccgame files have a different "runtime token" in the header, preventing the final from being used to deploy beta games (or vice versa).

This might be semi-off topic, but it deals with the versions of XNA.
In May 2009, XNA 3.1 is going to be released. Will all of our games have to be recompiled yet again? ![]() ![]() |

i say we should have a team that focuses on xna and specifically compiling/recompiling the source to cc/updated xna versions. this will keep all the games current and fresh.
