Everybody,
Please stop pretending that you know everything. Because you don't. And neither do I. But here's something I do know. Everybody is claiming that the Zune's wifi "only works within 30 feet or so". While this is true for the zune wifi TRANSMITTER, this is NOT TRUE for the RECEIVING END. The Zune device can receive a wifi signal just as well as any other similarly capable device. Please stop spreading lies. Thank you, ~Marshillboy~

I find this intriguing, because my router is a good 200ft from the Zune (30, 2nd gen, no touchpad) and it syncs fine...how is that possible if it can't send the applicable *ack* packets back at the router to confirm packet receipt...or more importantly, to request a connection/IP from the router? I live in a big house, with a lot of interference too...perhaps the Wi-Fi adapter is more capable than we expected? There is literally a microwave, 2.4GHz phone, three TVs, a refrigerator, and stove between where I usually sync my Zune and the router (Belkin Wireless G MIMO Router). That's a LOT of interference. LOL
I don't mean to discredit you, or state you are wrong, but this is my experience. Any suggestions/comments? ![]() |

He basically means stop with the god damn requests for things that the Zune can't do.

wow leracos... you could have looked up and answered your questions....
a tv is on a different frequencie than wifi, same thing with microwaves, and the only thing going thru a fridge is electricity... might as well throw in you clocks, lights, radios, alarm clocks, etc in that group of "interference"

most of the things that cause interference are things that produce an electric frequescy in the same range as the device you are trying to use.

As for the TV's, glass. Glass can cause minor interference, the same as walls and windows. The phone is obvious, 2.4GHz phone, 2.4GHz router. No surprise there. Fridges and stoves, kinda the same concept as microwaves. The heating/cooling coils are metal, and sometimes provide interference to certain wavelengths. Sometimes it's minor, other times (depending on the fridges settings/if it's overheating/etc.) it can be a real problem. Edit: Forgot the stove. And now a space. >_< Last edited by leracos : 06-07-2008 at 09:41 PM. Reason: Forgot stove. Forgot a space after comma. ![]() |
