GameFest Donation Fundraiser

Hey everyone. Coming up this July is the GameFest 2008. GameFest is a really cool conference with all sorts of game technologies and fun stuff like that. This year I'm trying to raise some money to send metacreature (my little studio startup) to the conference. We currently have one ticket secured, but we are still trying to raise the money to get a second one for my lead designer (a.k.a. my brother). Since the prices are a little steep, I'm turning to my readers to see if you can help us out.

So if you have found any of my tutorials or articles of use, or if you have downloaded and enjoyed the games I have made, please consider a small $5 or $10 donation to help us reach our goal to send our whole (two man) team to GameFest. Good luck, usually only famous people get money donated though, not deserving people.

Right now we have about $66 in donations (thanks those who have donated!) for the second ticket. He has also saved about that much on his own. He's still saving more each time he gets paid, but he definitely still has a ways to go.

I wish i can help you out, but I can't. Like myself, the average age of the zuneboards members are about 16 years old so we don't have acess to a credit card, debit card, paypall or anything.

What does one get out this conference? Those are some heavy ticket prices...

There's usually some showing of new stuff as well as some nice workshops and labs to give you ideas for making games. They have it all sectioned into different tracks so you can pick what you want to see. I've signed up for the XNA track (obviously), as well as the Casual Games track, and one about business and publishing. The only issue now is when the sessions actually are and if they overlap, but it will be a very educational experience I'm sure.
