Default Problem With Music Playback In Game/App

So.. I've tried multiple games/the clock apps, and whenever I try to listen to music via the options the developers have implemented, my Zune resets...

Any ideas as to how I can fix this? I know it's not the coding; most people have gotten it to work..

Is there an easy way to reload the firmware?

are you playing it while in release mode or are you accessing it straight off of your zune? If you are in release then sometimes that happens.

What would be the difference?

I download the program from the link, open the .sln file in C# and go under Build->Deploy [programname] and then press "Play" on the Zune

I've tried entering games/apps with music already playing cause I know some just let it continue, and I'm pretty sure I've tried it with nothing playing too..

I have a guess on this issue :
After I installed my first game, I realised that my Zune software did a long Synchronization on my zune when I connected it (after having a game on my Zune). When I tried to see what was being Synchronized, I couldn't see anything.

What I *guess* is happening is that the zune Software detects that you now use games on your zune and creates the library used for playing music in-games.

I have seen a lot of people having this problem also that they can't play a song in a game, and then all of a sudden this problem disappears. I guess it's because they synced in the meantime.

Could you try doing this and giving me an answer?

What exactly would I do to fix this? Sorry, I think I know what you're saying the problem is, I just don't know what you want me to try doing.

Sync your Zune like you would normally, if you haven't already synced since you added a game to it. If it starts a synchronisation with no item to sync, do not interrupt it, after that, try to access music in-game and see if it works.

Hmm.. seems like that's what it's doing now... I'll let you know what happens when it's done - thanks for the help, btw.

Edit: Meh, it didn't work, still crashed.. This is a bit annoying even though the software's only in CTP..

Strange, someone posted a problem similar to this in the [v2] rock rain thread. I don't think it's an error in the code, as others are having no problems... i really don't know what the cause could be.

Mine resets after you skip or change from one song (the first song) to another (the second song)

Oh, I went on the XNA boards and apparently it's due to the CTP's inability to play DRM-ed music, so anything from the Zune Pass won't work as of yet. They do plan on fixing it in one of the next releases, though.

Definitely sucks, but I'll just make a playlist of non-DRM music for the games for now, I guess.

It's a bummer because 90% of my music is from a zune pass, but I'm happy to know there is nothing wrong with my player.

I've got some great electronic music on CD that would be good tetris and pong music so I'll survive till it's fixed.

Same here, but I've got my favorite albums on actual CD, so I'll be fine
