Default XNA a portal to Zune Viruses?

If you can make games in it.
I'm sure you can make virus. Do you think anyone is going to produce a virus to annihilate the Zune?

there might be a jack A** out there willing to do it theres always someone, but mainly i think microsoft will make it hard for them as they have made it for us to crack the firmware, but you never know

That pretty much says it . I doubt it would happen anyway, though.

If we can create a virus, why not take advantage of it and run our own firmware?

I doubt viruses are going to spread very fast though. Mainly because the wireless is between friends, and you just need to be careful where you get your downloads from. So yes, it's a possibility, but not a massive threat IMO.

You can't share games wirelessly.

Has this been stated? What's to stop the sharing of games if all the other media on a Zune can be shared? It's still just sending information.

I think they did state you can't wirelessly share games, only play(I'm not really sure though)
It could be possible that someone will make viruses in the games, so to stay safe, just make sure you get the games from a trusted source

You can play games wirelessly with friends.. but you cant send them. You cannot wirelessly sync games either, only add them to the Zune via USB.

XNA have already stated this on their website.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, but Microsoft pretty much destroyed any chance of doing anything to permanently affect your zune, which I personally think is for the best. This is how they did the Xbox 360 and I have no doubt they would do the same for the Zune.

Also inorder for a game to be mass distributed it has to go through a couple steps as far as I know, and one of them is being tested by the XNA community. So basically someone could get a small group of XNA people and would probably then be removed from XNA if they tried an attack.

At least that is what I'm pretty sure they do with it right now.

well, it's a managed code system likely in some form of virtual machine or something close to it, meaning that the best anyone could 'hope' for is maybe a buffer overflow, but even that would be tough considering you won't be assembling the code yourself, and any "exploitable" code would be mostly blocked, and what isn't... has little likeliness of doing any real harm. The best you can expect is to run software / firmware with it that you would otherwise be unable to.. but what's the point? ----while typing all this out, I just had the most bizarre idea flow through my head... you know data can be transmitted between zunes wirelessly, even with xna 'games', what if the wireless networking being shared between zunes worked in a sort of cluster system, making an XNA "game" like "SETI@Home" and other similar technologies, generating a variable capacity networked computer system out of wireless portable media players... skynet is in our zunes killing our medias.

No. XNA Studio requires you to use XNA-specific classes when developing games.
That's why it's not possible to make viruses for the xbox 360 using XNA Studio

Buffer Overflows are impossible on managed code.
