Well no one knows for sure. But a lot of people think and I think this too... that when zune games are released MS will probably give some free ones. Like the Zauri game featured in all those sneak peek on zune games vids. Then MS will add zune games to the zune marketplace for us to buy. But you never know MS could offer them all up for free.. just got to wait and find out.

Default I heard...

It's unlike Microsoft to give anything away for free haha. I heard there's going to be a few free games, and otherwise individual ones for sale. I also heard there are going to be "packages". Example: Space Package: Asteroids, Zauri, Space Invaders. The package would cost less then if you bought them serperately. I found this believable but some of my friends have wild imaginations. Hope that helps.

*Starts to think how awesomely amazing it would be to play Space Invaders on Zune*

Most people don't realize that Microsoft is not the one making games, users are.

They will most likely be free.

Yes, most will be free depending on the creator
seeing as we will be using XNA to make them, the creators could charge or just give them for free

Well, I'll try to keep 'em free. I'll try to make as many good free games as I can.

correct me if im wrong but it was my understanding that microsoft has to certify the games, and they will be distributed on the zune marketplace... identical to how the xbox live arcade is run.
the only way i see games being free is if they distribute every crap game that meets their content restrictions.

I think it will be something like the XNA Creators Club like on the 360, pay a subscription, and play away.

I hope it will be free though.

first guess from what I've read, is that you'll download the source code for the game, and use the XNA C# program and 'build' it for the zune and the software should sync it... there's yet to be any talk of any xna creator's club subscription for the zune.

Microsoft made games...come on now. They cannot give free online play with the 360 like Sony and Nintendo can. No free WiFi included in the 360. They are about the dollars and they will squeeze us with the games as well.
Good thing I like them, or else I'd like someone else. Think about that!

The games will be free to make it has been confirmed that there will not be a "creators club" fee for the Zune. Delivery method has not been confirmed though so we don't know if there will be a games marketplace within the zune software.
In the beginning once the beta of XNA 3.0 is out if you want to play the game you will need to download XNA 3.0, c# express 2008 and compile and proc the game to your zune

Like others have said above ^ I agree, some games will probly be free but then I think MS will have some more to buy at the marketplace
