What do YOU want in the next firmware?

As a brit user, I'd like an zune version of the iPlayer. That'd be fantastic.

I'd like:

• to be able to sync only with folders of MY choosing, not just the Windows defaults. For those of us who organize our stuff a little bit differently, it would help to be able to create, name and organize our own sync folders.
• to be able to play ogg vorbis files.
• to see albums in the album list, not the same album for each song on the album. That's a song list organized by album, not an album list.
• to have more categories available, like audiobooks, and be able to make the ones I don't use invisible.
• an easy way to get my own images set as background wallpaper, without hacks. Not critical, but would be nice. Maybe we could upload custom style sheets?

I'm a new Zune owner; a happy one at that. These are the things that have jumped out at me.

I would definately like:
Support for more video formats.
View listen counts for songs, most listened to, least listened to...
A Clock...that does not have a restart after viewing the time...
Edit mp3 and mp4 tags without having to have the file on the connected computer.

Overall, many things were improved last firmware, and even without these things...I am still happy with my Zune.

I WANT THE OLD SOFTWARE BACK ON MY PC...I absolutly HATE the new v2 software....I never update my zunes music anymore cause I hate the crappy interface.

I love the device software but the software on my PC sucks...please change it! I would like a folder view..nit the crappy one it currently has.

Probably already said, but ability to buy copyrighted games that can be synced using the Zune media player (i.e. Peggle, chips, other games that you'd have to buy for your computer) right from the Zune marketplace.

I bought a Zune8 and then a Zune80 in the past month, I've been wanting one ever sicne they were released... I live in Australia. While I love it, there are some things that I'd like to see... (its actually funny when I first pass the zune to a mate and my sister, and they kept using their thumb in a circular motion confused its not working!).
- A clock : everyone has been saying this for years, but I find it really helpful when i'm at the gym or jogging outdoors and I dont want to wear a watch or bring my phone
- Being able to play the media off the Zune : I usually liked going thru my old ipod and just deleting what I didnt like, but I usually tried and listen to the track first and then decide, same with video. I'm usually on 2 computers so copying to every collection leaves a track of the same file everywhere for nothing.
- Being able to listen to what is being fast forwarded or rewound : helps with audiobooks and podcasts (im trying to learn a new language with it) and also i found at the gym, when I want the good part of a song to come up, its a bit hit and miss with the forwarding.
- Using the swipe while forwarding in videos : it would be nice if it was more sensitive as if i was using the pad to do volume.
- Proper games : I'd pay for decent games or games that don't reset your zune. I only can play pong for so long...it usually takes half a track for me to get over it. And those 20 seconds of silence in between restarts and getting music back on annoys me.
- Viewing Portrait or landscape : This is something more aimed towards photos. I know most photos come in landscape but sometimes i'd like and then it doesn't work out as a background wallpaper. Just a little thing I suppose. If i was left handed, I think id appreciate being able to flip the screen the other way for videos/pictures too.
- Automated playlists : Such as just added, most played, stupid things like that. If nokia's have that option, it shouldn't be too hard for the zune.
- Choosing the thumbnail for the video clip : More an aesthetic issue, but the whole zune software is based on being aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes it nice to distinguish video clips with different pictures and not black screens (on some of my files). I have music video clips so it does make a difference at times. Especially when its for the software on the pc and on the zune.
Most of these things are little, and most of these things you already get on the Ipod many firmware updates back. Most of these aren't features, just basic necessities I feel. I'm sure microsoft knows all this, for years now, so it would be nice for it to come around soon. I hope these standard "features" arent being prepared for the Zune 3.. which im sure 2 more ipods will come out by then. Im sure these are things said over and over... but i'm semi happy about my Zune's at the moment. Only semi coz the zune80 screen just sucks to watch video in my opinion. Seeing the pixels makes my eyes go wierd. Anyway massive post

And I don't mean a game called "Clock," because that's really borderline pathetic. Just add a ****in' clock already!

The GUI is awesome, but we've had to use it for a long time (us OG zuners anyway) while I love the "twist" perhaps a revamp, not unlike the 360 one coming this fall, is needed. Microsoft can even give us a choice of which one we would like to use.

I would like a more reliable downloading service in the software.
no more failed downloads and corrupted files! I have other things to do than trying to download the same video file 8 times!
Also a more cusomizable GUI on the device and software, video folders, audiobook support, and, increase the fps on the device.
compare the 30 and 80 and you will know what I mean.
(it drives me CRAZY, for some reason...)

i think the sleep timer is unnecessary, the thing i do is just set a playlist with a certain number of tracks and once its over, the zune turns off like 5 mins after...

Asian font support. That's first off. Maybe adding .avi to the mix of videos we can add. We don't really need a clock, but it wouldn't hurt. Otherwise, the firmware is great for me.
