I was just checking out my friends PSP and he just updated its FW. A new function was added, "Internet Radio." It was very creative. He used my internet connectivity and had over thirty different radio stations to choose from. I thought something like that should be added to the ZUNE's using the wi-fi. If you haven't seen how it works check out this video. Not the same exact thing should be used but something with very similiar functions.

What do you think?

It would be cool if Zune teamed up with Serious or something...

Bah new sony psp firmware. Put the cfw on it and you have even more internet radio+stream from pc if you wanna listen to a bunch of songs on a playlist while gaming. Once you homebrew you cannot go back no matter how many functions they add. Why you ask? Because they add the features AFTER the homebrew community has already created them. Still cool though that they still care about adding features... for non homebrewers.

I would like to see better video controls. Like fast forward and reverse. I would also like to be able to load videos in chapters so they can be played similar to song albums. Where I can start at any chapter and continue from there rather then having to always start from the beginning. Also I would like to have a equalizer I can control as apposed to selecting preset items.

Well, you can fast forward and reverse. While you have the Zune 30 (figured 30 because it's the one with EQ presets), you just press and hold the left and right buttons, right for FF and left for RR. As for the other stuff, I'm up for the chapters system, I think it would be the first MP3 player with such, and it's good on DVD players. But I think the files need to be wired for it, not sure if they are, yet.

MOST IMPORTANT!

Revamp the software. Allow for true ID tagging. Allow for drag-n-drop ability. True, that this would negate the software, but you should be allowed more than one way to play with the DAP. Allow for custom skinning.

M$ has a nice FORM with the Zune80, but the FUNCTIONALITY improvement. With a growing user base, I am sure someone will do homebrew apps

Gapless.
I think this is the only siginificant feature that the iPod has that the Zune doesn't.

Default Make it better than iTunes...

crosspost, this is better place I think.

I'll start:

- Songs adding/moving through Albums by dragging selected songs to one album (browse view!) Also the order should be changed that way. Or Online sync that'll fix it.
- Creating of new Albums, by rightclick-> newalbum or make first album in any list an icon of a new album and double-click it to enter information.
- A sync with some database for track orders per cd, online sync plz. More extensive art database to sync. Common, Last.fm seems to have a extensive database...invest a few days and money to get some students to go through some record stores and all scan them.
- Plz make search in list mode as well, itunes style...alot faster and easier to search.
- Last but certainly not least: Easier editing in list mode, on any column/row/field, a shift+doubleclick should be enough to edit information. This also counts for multiple items selected by dragging/selecting excel-style! This means you can edit information quickly in list view like an excel sheet. The click and drag story. Believe me, it'll make editing very efficient and easy. A doubleclick should show the info selected nicely. The selected rows decide the height of the infofield-popup, only the selected rows show their input fields. Be sure to let shift/ctrl+click/drag do their work. Like selecting vertexpoints/faces on 3d geometry .

These points will make the software a lot easier to use! Just make sure the design departments keeps it clean. Don't want to look at an excel sheet. Make some instructions videos if you will, before you start. It'll make the transition a lot easier for people.

Been a bit frustrated since I've cleared it twice, changed libraries and still haven't got the albums sorted the way I want cause I can't.

Oh yeah, Microsoft/Zune people, this advice is gonna cost you $10.000 . Mail me.

English not native language, sorry for any mistakes

I would like to have more information about albums and songs, like lyrics and artist bio. Also a improvement on the Zune Software, because it is not easy to find or edit songs when you have a large library.

Cool iTunes

Probably Apple won't be willing, but, some online sharing capability of musiclibaries to communicate between iTunes and Zune-users. This way you can listen to each others music, or play loud music @ work and learn to appreciate some different kinds of music .

Ohyeah, another tip, maybe make an even more 'crippled' version concerning eye-candy. Selectable in the preferences. Make it really work on any machine fluently. Many users have a seperate machine/computer to work with Music. In many cases the oldest computer gets this lovely task. On my laptop (1.7 Pentium M) it doesn't scroll smoothly. Try taking scrollbar with mouse and move it up and down a few times. This annoys me. Plz try something to make it smoother. Another thing that would be nice to have it in a smaller font so I can look at more music at the same time. A font and vertical spacing parameter in the preferences would be nice. Or a full UI scaler.

You can totally delete files off your library and not have them deleted on your Zune! It just takes some knowledge.

1. Have Zune connected and program on.

2. Go to Setting on top right hand on screen.

3.Select "Device"

4. Click on "Forget this device"

5. The program will ask you if you're sure...blah blah blah...click yes or okay everything.

6. Delete whatever it is you want deleted off your library.

7. Disconnect and connect your Zune again.

8. Zune program will ask you questions, just follow and MAKE SURE you choose "Let me choose......" on EVERYTHING.

9. Click okay and you're good to go bro!

I would love to see more codecs supported, especially divx and .flv. The software needs a revamp of sorts aswell. Other than that I dont really mind, something like internet radio or tv would be nice, but I cold live without it.
