I want to run the zune softwear from the zune. so if i go someplace and want to edit things on my player i can hook it in and edit my stuff, download from markitplace, get a video or pic from a freand what ever.

geting music from my zune onto my 360's hdd. perhaps intergrate x-box/games for windows live into the zune softwear. same account, and bring the markitplace from zune to the 360 so i can use the songs i downloaded for the zune on more then my zune. basicly for microsoft to intergrate evrything like they want to do better then they are.

Also when you're watching a movie, you can click the center button to see the time frame of the movie instead of having to push the play and stop =]

- Compact .NET framework so developers can make there own plugins/addons. I truly think it would be amazing to see what people could create. We all know when the next generation zune comes out, owners of the original zune will probably be left in the dust with no more updates, so why not let the user community keep it alive?

- Ability to use the zune to find and play music while plugged into an xbox 360. Currently it makes you use the xbox 360 to find music, and it freezes up frequently if you have a large music collection.

- If I turn on TV output keep it active whenever it detects a cable inserted, or until I disable it.

- When listening to music I often times shuffle all it, and sometimes when a song comes on I would like to be able to push the center button, and have a "Play all songs by artist" or goto the artist view showing me all the songs by that artist.

most of this has been said ... but it is the eq i am wanting the most...

1) True customizable equalizer…. I want more base and more overall control (I think it is wrong that the zune cant do this … but many low end players can… not ever song works with the pre sets)
2) Support for more video codecs
3) Sleep Timer! So if I accidentally turn the zune on(Or forget to turn it off), it will turn its self off after a couple hours of consecutive playtime.
4) Delete files from the Zune device
5) Some sort of off switch (I don’t like the stand by thing)
6) Gapless playback
7) Zune playable games
8) Over all more customization

I hope they use some of the features they talked about in "Is The Zune Holding Back?"

all of these ideas are great and i would love to see this happen but i have questions.

how much of this is actually possible?
how often do they release a new firmware?

i am on the current 1.4 and i want them more often.

Almost everything here is possible for Microsoft (and only Microsoft) to do as soon as they want. They release them a month or more.

Default What I'd like to see in the next Zune Firmware

The Zune is amazing and I love it, but that battery life SUCKS. I'd love to see improved battery efficiency in the next firmware update.

1. Tune Wireless off
2. Turn backlight to 5 secs.
3. Turn brightness to low.
4. The less you interact with it....the better the battery life.
5. Vids are only 3-4 hrs anyway..
6. Pics are too cause the screen stays lighted...
7. If u tun on music with the Zune Earphones and listen to it on about 10 with out ever changing songs and just letting it play it will last 13-14 hours...

As for firmware. I think we just wait for second gen. Microsoft is on so many things right now...Vista, Surface, Zune ,ect..... Give 'em a break..

1. Sync over WiFi
2. Clock with automatic shutdown-function
3. alphabetic filter should be available (filter artists that start with a; b; ...)
4. remove DRM
5. record music from the radio
and/or: make it open source!

when you watch a video... and you press the middle button, you don't get to see where you are in the video

so it should dysplay the time of the movie when you press the ok button, so that way you don't have to pause to see how much time is left on the vid.

for sure a clock
Deleting files from the Zune without a pc would be GREAT
More control of the file structure.

Default crossing everything and hoping for the best

I actually think it would work in the favor of microsoft if they allowed compatibility with macs (even though I hate macs).

I would also like to see some added uses for the wi-fi (texting would be cool)

I wish we didn't have to use the zune software to ul and dl onto the zune

this is probably already on here...

but it'd be cool if you could still listen to music while the zune is plugged in.

and I know I said this somewhere

it would be cool if ther music you were listening to on your zune, would start to play on your computer after being plugged in. same with vids.

You can already do that as long as the Zune software is closed.
