A) Open your Zune Software, connect your device, once it loads right click it and tell it to Check for Device Updates.

A) You only need to install the newest version, it will contain the code for all previous updates.

A) That is up to you, some updates contain significant improvement (such as 1.1), however most contain only minor fixes. (

A) They are links to a download of the original firmwares of the noted version. They can not be installed by you to your Zune in ordinary circumstances. They are there for hacking and reference purposes.
