Default Should I keep firmware v2.5?

Hi yalls, I just had my 120gb zune RMA'd because it died spontaneously. they sent me a new zune with the v2.5 firmware still installed, but I still have the 3.1 ware on my computer. I have seen various mods and softwares that only work with v2.5, so my question is: (a) is there any sizable reason to stay with version 2.5? (b) if so, how would i go about downgrading my computer software? many thanks.

I would say you should update. There are some pretty awesome games for the Zune (almost all of which are posted on this site).

You can buy a harddrive for cheap, if you're worried about losing the HDD hack.

Doesn't V2.5 have the "quicklist"???

If it does, then I would of definitely stayed with that version, too back I can't downgrade back. :[

the quicklist was the best!

i checked, and yes, it does. other mpm's ive owned had a quicklist feature, and i love it. i didnt realize that 2.5 had it until now. why the bloody heck would they have done away with in in v3.1?! i hope they bring it back in the new update rumored to be in the near future.

quicklist is definitely a good reason not to update...

2 for update 1 against. I think the one i just ordered is going to be 2.5 as well. I like the game options. But the hard drive hack sounds good too. Ill need to read some more before it gets here so i know what to do

I'll look but since this is a update or not thread. does the hard drive hack for 2.5 alow the unit to come up as a hard drive? Do you not need to load software on every pc you connect it too? If so 2.5 is the way i want mine!
