See this post for where to get the files:

The files alone won't help you. Updating your firmware without using the Zune.exe Windows program is possible, but not the easiest way.

Thanks for the files, but do you have any idea how to install it? I don't have any choice!

Yeah...there's no way to get it offline. You pretty much have to be using an unproxied connection, because that firmware file will not be able to be added to the Zune. It would be best to ask whoever is managing your network to either temporarily open all ports, or aske for access to a computer that is unproxied. That's pretty much the only way, other than finding an outside connection. There is tunneling software that would allow you to bypass the proxy, but I don't have a clue how to make the Zune softwre use it.

i've tried extracting the zune software download with WinRar and opening the Zune-x86.exe in the packages folder the way it worked in 2.5. it installs zune and you can sync stuff to the zune and stuff but the "device" section of the software doesnt show up so you cant access the device.

if you install it like this there will be an error thing that says "zune has encountered an error and needs to close" i just move it out of the way and still sync stuff.

i wish there was a way to have the full 3.0 on a computer without internet but idk how.
