I just bought and installed a 850 mah battery for my Zune 30. Running at Firmware 2.3 it ran fine till the battery almost drained for about 8 hours. Then, i connected it to the software and upgraded the firmware to 2.5. The upgrading was smooth as usual but ever since i upgraded, my zune reboots every 2 minutes regardless of whether its playing music or still there idle switched on.
I noticed that the fonts animation had become jittery since 2.3 and now, for me to run the zune longer than 2 minutes, i have to keep the display at "always on". How do i downgrade the firmware back to 2.3? |

I don't believe you can downgrade the firmware from 2.5 to 2.3.

You can downgrade by wiping the Zune (back+up, then back+left+center), downgrading the software, and deploying 2.3. However, I don't think that'll solve your problem, and you'll lose the games capability.

UPDATE: I opened up my zune and disconnected the HDD cable and let it stay that way about 10 mins. I put it back in and voila! My Zune works with no problem now.
I think the hardware got reset since they had no power. Everybody having rebooting problems should try this out. I think this would work for everybody having the same problem. |
