Update on Firmware 1.3

I just got off the phone with Zune tech support and while discussing my issue (the skipping thing I mentioned in another thread) and the tech said well in Firmware 1.3 that should no longer be an issue, have you updated? I said, uhhh, Firmware 1.2 is the most current I know of. That is what I am running.

He said nah, I think 1.3 is out now. I told him no, we were still on 1.2. He said oops, maybe I jumped the gun, well, just be patient then, it will be released anytime now and it should fix a lot of issues, this one being probably the highest on the list.

So there you have it, 1.3 is most likely ready to go and should be released anytime, at least according to this technician at Zune Support.

Well, I think the next firmware will be released this week, possibly tomorrow, wednesday 28th.

Talkin to the Zune Support right now regarding the firmware.

edit: Quite disappointing for me.

Lets hope, the tech I spoke to was very convinced 1.3 was already out, I had to tell him twice that it wasn't and eventually he went and checked Zune.net himself before he agreed and told me it should be anytime and to be patient.

Hope more things come in this firmware.
There's a leak video showing the new firmware for ipod and now has a new feature.
Hope Zune responds in a good way.

Better check updates constantly.

ha! At this point I would be happy just for the skipping problem to be repaired. The static thing would be nice too but compared to the skipping I don't care about anything. I am a total MS fanboy and it is hard to tell everyone how much cooler the Zune is when it skips on every other song.

The skipping problem isn't everyone though...less people have the problem than people that don't have it. That's a plus.

Just some graphical search enhancement with their album art. Check youtube, you will find it quickly. It is actually pretty cool, I think since new players are coming out with more graphical interfaces Apple is stepping up their game which should be good for business.

The update is coming on March 20, the update includes:

Fix for the skipping problem on music purchased on the music store.
Improved device and software reliability, device detection and improved sync'ing.
Improved FM tuner (no longer drains battery when on sleep).

I hope they make the software better with this release. Right now I have about 50 songs on my zune that the software doesnt see and songs that I have synced that the zune just didnt pick up. Rather annoying. I had it skip on only one song and now that one is gone for some reason (one that disappeared). The static isnt that bad on any of my songs, granted I have only listened to the smashing pumpkins thus far.

for a MICROSOFT program, it doesn't act like or work like any other Microsoft program.... not to say that everything M$ makes is bulletproof, but the Zune software is garbage!!!
