Default Will the new firmware update erase the Zune's HD?

Yeah, the title is my question.

I only have a 40gb hard drive on my laptop and no other means to backup 60gb worth of songs and movies on my Zune. If the new firmware update deletes everything on my Zune then it's gonna be disastrous. Please tell me if I should somehow find a way to backup my data before I update.

Thanks a lot!

It won't delete anything on your zune, it will only update your firmware, so you're safe.
I don't know of any way to back up your media, sorry.

Nope, it shouldn't erase anything.

As stated before, it won't erase anything, but just to be safe, its always a good idea to have everything backed up on your computer. If you have media on the player that was "guest" synced from another library, simply connect the zune, and browse to the media and click copy to library. So if for some reason the firmware update goes bad, and it is not bricked, you have all your data safe. It only takes a few seconds too.
