I've tested the firmware, the gapless works.

Default Love the Update

Nothin' but love for the update. Gapless playback is awesome. Zune Cards on device - sweet. Automatic playlists - awesome - don't forget to check out the album bleed out - playlist can be automatically made from there, too.

Not to mention the "Support for XNA" which is a sweet hint at its release date (sooner than we thought)

Can someone explain to me how to work gapless playback?

Nice looking update, but still no ability to create custom folders (Unless I missed that), which is completely lame.

Nope, no custom folder, but now the Tv shows can be in folders, like Videos>TV>Series Name>Episodes
A bit better then before, especially with the video tagging.

Yeah I am just going to have to reconvert all my videos as WMV (I was mostly using MP4 before which is what 90% of my videos are) do not hold tags.

Its when one song finishes and another begins. Previously there was a 1sec gap between tracks but thats now been removed... so it kind of blends.

Idk, I still hear the gap, is there some special file format it has to be in to have gapless?

That sucks. You should probably use Unzoone and then the full Zune package. But you probably already know that.

Some albums have gaps by design, gapless is useful for a lot of live albums, mixes, and some studio albums like Dark Side of the Moon. I believe it will work with any of the formats, but gapless support with MP3 is hit-or-miss in general, because when the format was design it wasn't designed to be gapless, so some encoders still can't do gapless. If the MP3s are encoded with LAME, they should be gapless.

Ok, thnx, I was wondering why cause i tested it with a concert album, so I'm gonna see if I can fix it.
Edit: Yea, wow, with wma it has gapless, really nice thnx,

the only thing i benefited from this is video categorizing. all the other whatever things you guys talked about i didn't even notice, where is it at? the software or the firmware? and where in the software/firmware?

No you won't. Over 90% of my videos are .mp4 and the software is still able to separate them. I believe it's creating it's own database where it tells the software and Zune where all of your videos belong, versus relying solely on metadata which isn't present in MP4 videos. It's much easier and reliable.

Yes, you need to update the software first, if u can't
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software, get the software directly from Microsoft
Zune Software 2.5 Download
