Default How long, do you guess, until new firmware is released that...

supports gaming and screensavers?

I am guessing the gaming component will hit around June.

I think screen savers are only for display models and wont be on the next firmware
for games, they said by the end of 2008, so maybe in november
in June they will be releasing a beta of XNA

I don't know when, but Microsoft needs to pick up the pace. It's not like they have to figure out what needs to be added. Just pick from the list .

Yes XNA is for games, XNA Game Studio 3.0 is what we'll be using to create the games for the zune

There will have to be one for the XNA beta so your looking at about the end of spring

Its not the actual thing, its like a testing version of it, to see how well it works and to find bugs in it i guess

somtime this summer MS is proly publishing there own zune games and the xna beta starts then. we wont be seeing the xna games till september to november

I'm sure games aren't the sole reason for the next firmware update so it's possible we will see one before games debut. And even still, they might decide to work on the software more. They could easily release a software update in advance to prepare for games as well as fix some glitches. That way they could make sure everything is in order before games actually come out.

Yea they really need to pick up the pace but I guess their kinda slow because of the XNA
