No they are not, the quarters for release dates are simple every 3 months from January seasons are arbitrary. Spring doesn't start in January(still considered winter) it can be in end of February or early March in the northern hemisphere and can last 2- 4months as seasons are decided by temperature and the seasons are reversed in the southerner hemisphere and they all vary in length so quarters are not equal to the seasons in any way
remember along the equator there are only 2 seasons summer and winter so they aren't even equal in number in some regions of the world

Well I get your point. Frequent updates are better than spaced out ones.

As long as they are actually improving the device, I welcome updates often. However, we've also seen things that get updated and breaks features we like, i.e. equalizer.
