What does it mean?

When you are at the main screen on your Zune, and you go to Settings > Music. What does it mean:

artists: song and album
and
artists: album only

I never see a change no matter what I do.

I know

artists: song and album - This shows all albums AND songs that are not allocated an album

artists: album only - Only shows albums (so songs that have unknown album will not be shown)

Test it out if you dont believe me

i'm mainly confused by what you trying to say

lolz... and song and album.. probably means showing song playing and the album cover.. and album only probably means showing no song title besides album..

I don't have any songs that have "Unknown Album" for the Album, so I can't test it out.

But once again, starting to sound like another pointless/messed up feature by Microsoft.

It's for anything that has a common album, but different artists. I will use my collection for example. I have a bunch of songs, that are from albums. To keep it simple, I only have the songs I want from the album. Thus making “unknown” all over the place. I made a album called “Singles” to keep them together. If it's on Album only, then it's all kept in order, but the artists are not all listed, and are labeled by “Singles”. If it's on song and album, then it's still organized but now the Zune reads the song title as well, making all the artists labeled in the artist list.

It's hard to understand without seeing it yourself. Same thing applies with soundtracks I think. So if you have a soundtrack with multiple artists, try playing with the setting.

I know what ya mean dude. A soundtrack has songs by different people, so the Zune makes it seperate albums. According to you, this should fix it.

Well, I spent a long time trying to get my Zune to display the individual songs I have in one "album" but keep the listing of Artists and Songs proper. I only offer help when I can and Know it's needed.

Actually I just synced some songs with different artists on the same problem, and this didn't work.
