Call Zune tech support and get a new zune... sounds like a hardware problem with the crashing.

It made it so that the album play in order instead of all the songs in alphabetical order.

I gotta admit i feel the original posters pain, my zune really is "crashing" screen just goes black and it has to be reset like six times before it works. And since when can you just call microsoft and say "Hey guys my zunes plagued with horrible problems can you send me another free of charge, great thanks."? I didn't buy the warrenty plan because i just thought maybe microsoft wouldn't drop the ball so horribly....

diddly squat :|
I don't think I would ever use that term in public, in text or speech!

The crashing sucks but only seems to happen to me when I try to do too much with the zune at once like listen to tunes on shuffle and when it is changing track I'm browsing pictures too fast or flicking around the videos.

i haven't had any crashing, any of the problems i've seen are usually fixed by with reformatting or re-installing the zune software.

The firmware makes the Zune run faster. It did lots just by doing that.

The ZS on the other hand, is a backtrack. Like from XP to Vista.

This is definitely more important than fixing the countless problems people are having.

Not everyone is having the countless problems, plus this update effected all those who chose to update. Problems will be fixed in time, and it's not like they aren't getting fixed now either.

Enough people are that MS needs to prioritize. Three updates in the new software/firmware and most of the big bugs are still there.

I agree, big bugs are still present. But not for everybody, which is an issue. How can you create a Bug fix which is only present on some devices. It complicates things a lot.

I never had a problem like this with my zune. My zune use to cut off randomly but it's ok now.

Well my Zune works, except that it freezes on shuffle sometimes, but other than that everything's fine. I was hoping they would add more features, though. I wasn't expecting them to, but it would have been nice.
