Default ERROR code c00d11cd GRRR

Ive done a hard reset for my zune and i get the step by step re install blah blah blah on my zune, connect zuen to computer re install firmware, you get the picture and when i go to connect the zune to the computer and open zune within seconds i get a pop up that says i have to update firmware to 2.2
which is cool, i go to update it and it says a failure/error has occured and whatever. I keep trying to fix my zune and install this update but my zune still says i need to connect it to a computer and reinstall firmware. My view on the matter is that i probabaly need to have an original version of the firmware that i wiped off my zune before i can update it on the zune. Zune customer support, friendly as they are, dont seem to help. I love my Zune, any ideas besides connecting my zune to the back usb port or erasing zune which ive both tried a million times, if ou have aim you can I.M me on Those5Kids1Suck8

Default This works!!

Just to clarify the steps in adding a registry line without creating a .reg file, go to start-->run-->type regedit, click on + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows and then RIGHT click on BITS and use New-->Dword from the menu. Name it UseLmCompat and give it a value of 0. Lastly, Right click on My Computer-->Manage-->Services--> and click on Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Restart the service. I appreciate everybody's assistance till this point as this finally worked for me.

I am getting this error (CD00D11CD) when I try to upgrade my year old Zune 30 from firmware 2.2(1040) to 2.3(1145). The web site is still clueless about what this error means.

OH I KNOW!!! Did you disable Windows Update? if you did, it automatically fails. Go to start > run > ms config > services and look it up. If it's disabled, enable it. Then restart your PC.
