Not sure if anyone was having this same exact problem, but I wanted to do a complete wipe of the zune and desktop software on my system. When I did bring this back up had a major problem with syncing music to the zune. The collection would be recognized by the software but the Zune itself would shug and grind to a halt when syncing over 2000 songs, ( collection has 6500 total) tried refresh again tried individual folder sync, even tried spitting three times while turning in a circle. J/K Nothing would get the Zune to take the rest of the collection.
Then just to try some old school logic on this, hey maybe it is to deep in the tree for the software to pull it out. So I moved my collection folder to d\collection and bingo the syncing probelm is gone. Now I batched syned full collection with no problems. Thought this may help someone else on this, just like a number of your other post in here have helped me. Thanks Rick ![]() |

he simply moved the folder to the root of the drive i think...
so instead of it being "D:\My Documents\My Music\Another Folder\Albums\Collection" he moved it to "D:\Collection" I think if the file path is over 256 characters (NTFS... 255 for FAT) for any file it may run into problems. |

I had that same problem with archiving to my CD/DVD rom. I came to the same conclusion and placed the primary music, art, and video folder in the root directory of all of my hardrives.
Yeah it counts the characters in the file path as well as the characters in the actual filename. |
