It's seriously so ugly. The letters are HUGE and the last item in the menu on the screen gets cut off half-way, so unclean and hideous.

A smart thign to do is to give each zune owner the ability to choose there own font and font size. Then if Micrsoft wants to be really cool, they could give us the ability to choose those things in certain menus. Ex- I want the font in playlists different in albums then I can just change either a) on pc or b)on the zune itself. I don't know if that's asking too much, but hey, I have 80g to mess around with.

that would rock so hard! I should be easy to do I mean my creative Zen let me chose the menus and stuff. Zune would win some brownie points with me if they took that advice

Exclamation don't like it as well

just got a 30G zune as a gift...
dunno abt 2.2; but i have now upgraded to 2.3 from the original 1 firmware...
i think the earlier was much more user-friendly than these new ones...
and yeah, i think the big font is a bit too big (pls stick to no-scroll rule) and letters getting a margin on left (when browsing artists/albums/etc) also seems like a waste of space...
commendable background graphic though... i was starting to think that they want to save costs by not commissioning these things to real artists... ; ) thank god that MS is learning...

also, the good old zune desktop software was also so much more simpler to both figure and use!!...
i had really come to like the pasting-in album artwork feature...
and, how do you now edit song details??...

i think this is one of the rare times that i am disappointed in an "upgrade"...
boy, i hope that the battery life atleast improves...

I seriously, seriously, seriously hate the big font. Every time I see it I want to chunk my zune out the window...

Its just stupid. Its too big to comortable read. I LOVE the font size they use on the things like settings, ect, but the font size for the main menu is stupid. Why should I have to scroll for 7 fecking items?

Its hard to read, it looks like ****...and I think its just plain bad design.

Don't get me wrong. The new theme and style is awesome...its just the font size that sucks. The main menu font size needs to be smaller. If I were rating the zune I'd have to take a point off of usability for this...it really is serious to me...it makes me enjoy the product alot less...

Its just distracting and annoying. Why would anyone want font so big you have to scroll? Do any forums use font so big you can only use 6 lines on your screen?

If when I first tried a zune this firmware had been on it...I doubt I would have purchased one...

Bleh, I'm going to sleep. I'll wake up tomorrow and try and figure out how to downgrade so I can enjoy my zune...

Exactly. I think the big, lowercase letters are fine. Never bugged me one bit.

I personally like the big font, I would probably hate it if it was small. The only thing I hate about it is it's color. Don't get me wrong the white font color looks nice, on dark backgrounds. But sometimes I like to change up my backgrounds and sometimes there white. Then with the font color being white it kind of blends in, making my options invisible to me. So in other words, I wish Microsoft would allow us a option to change the font color.

I have the same problems at times to but I have gotten used to it. Although i agree that would be an awesome feature to be implemented in the next firmware update.

I like the big letters. Combined with the squircle, it gives the Zune a more iconic feel. I believe that's what Microsoft was going for in order to distinguish the Zune from other MP3 players.
