[LTB] Broken Zune 80

I want to buy a broken Zune 80 Black. As long as the price is reasonable and the glass screen isn't cracked, i'll take it. To make a long story short, the glass over my zune 80 cracked and I'm looking to replace that part of it.

Why not buy a screen only rather than the whole Zune.

zune 80 screens isn't available yet... i think.. not even on ebay... thats why if you break your zune 80.. either replace it with a store warranty or your choice is to sell it as piece or buy another zune 80 for replacement...

I bought one of the Zune Originals and Microsoft doesn't want to help me replace the screen. I'll probably go through rapidrepair, I just want to make sure I get my Zune back at the end of the process.

Is the glass screen broken only or the LCD screen and glass screen broken?

RapidRepair does not sell Zune 80 parts.

I am not sure if you are planning on replacing the glass piece yourself or having someone do it for you. But if its just the glass and not the screen underneath you could likely just have a glass shop cut you a piece of the appropriate thickness and dimensions to replace it? Would likely save you a buttload.

I have never done this, do not know if there is something special about the glass or how you have to replac it. But I thought it was worth tossing out there.

Sorry, wish I could have helped, but my first Zune's glass cracked as well (although it was covered by the invisible shield, so it was barely noticeable). I sent it in to rapidrepair, but they don't have the front panels in stock even after 3 months. Apparently, you need to get the entire front panel, not just the glass.

So then I got me a second Zune for listening on my flight, and a week later dropped it on the floor and the HD died So now I'm swapping the HD from the cracked glass Zune into the second Zune, and will sell the broken one for its LCD.

Watch eBay. Just last week I saw a dropped-in-water Zune 80 go for a decent price.

dont know if this guy still needs help, but there are now zune 80 screens available for purchase on the web. yo can even get an acrylic/plastic replacement screen so it doesnt break as easily, but scratches easier
