Default Zune Travel Pack Review with pics

Well, I just got my Zune Travel Pack which includes the Premium Headphones with storage case, AC Adapter, Wired Remote, Zune Gear Bag and Sync Cable.

The Premium Headphones sound WONDERFUL and fit perfectly. They also come with two get rid of any outside noise. It also comes with2 other sizes of rubber ear pieces to fit any ear. They almost completely cancel outside noise. The included storage is a nice addition to the Travel Pack. The headphones and extra earbud pieces fit nicely into the case and the case fits snuggly into the Gear Bag.

The wired remote is really nice and works great. The best thing about it is that it lets you connect 2 headphones at once. It features volume controls for both headphones, a lock button and a swivel clip.

The star of this kit in my opinion is the Gear Bag. There is a place for everything in this perfect little hardshell case. The AC adapter fits perfectly in it's own slot as do the headphones. There is a nice molded place for the Zune with an elastic band to hold it in. The case is heavy duty and should protect your Zune from bumps and bruises. For more details, see my pics below

Nice shots there, Nook! Thanks for the info - I've been thinking about some sort of storage case thingy and this doesn't look half bad. I really like the overpadding they do - no bumps there!

I think my wife just ordered this kit for me last night... I can't have my zune yet though - we each got a gift for the other one & told each other what it was, but we're leaving them under the tree so the kids can see us unwrapping them. Now I've got the car kit AND the travel pack - THIS WAITING TILL THE 25TH IS NOT EASY!!!.....These things are what will really set Zune apart from the ip..(didn't want to say the word). Does anyone know if the "Pod" has a case this nice - my wife has a pod & I'd like to get her a case, but I have not seen anything this nice for it yet. Like I said - these are the things that elevate the Zune above all others....

Nice review! I'm probably getting the travel pack along with my Zune.

If you were to buy these parts by themselves, it would be about $150, so it's not a bad deal!

Great review and thanks for those pics! Now I am in debate....
I wonder if those headphones will sound as good or better than the on-ear ones that I bought from Sony , they are MDR 710 which are foldable and they sound great but they are not as portable as the other ones.

The headphones have remarkably good bass for headphones. I'm STILL very pleased with this purchase. iTunes downloads down drastically, YAY!!! :0)

That's why I like headphones better. They may be a little heavier, but they are pretty comfortable.

I thought about getting this, but the gear bag is alittle too big for my tastes, mostly because I don't need to carry all that stuff with me, I just want to carry the zune and the headphones. The kit does look really nice though and seems like a pretty good deal. Nice review!

Another review from dSharp!

Pros:
  • Hella excellent premium headphones! The noise cancelling isn't as great as some would have you believe, but it's awesome regardless!! ;D
  • I have no need for the dual connect remote, but it works great as a remote and volume control.
  • The gear 'bag' is of a decent material and the fitted compartments are nice, easy to use, etc.

Cons:
  • The A/C adapter is a plug hog, but it's ok otherwise
  • Can anyone get the headphones back in the case after getting them out the first time? (I just wrap 'em up and place them in the space above the zune.
  • The gear bag doesn't have a handle! Makes carrying it odd

Summary:
All in all, $100 is a little steep - $80 would have been more reasonable(IMHO - remember eBay and Amazon are your friends!) but the materials are all top notch. the cons aren't that bad, just inconviences that don't take away from the usefulness of the products, just my own observations - except for the gear bag - no handle??!
Recommended ;D
