I bought the zune transmitter over the weekend and i hate it. i have tried it in my jeep wrangler and get nothing but static, so i figured it was the old radio. so yesterday i tried it in the tahoe and a little better but still static. i had to hold it next to the radio for it not to have static. looks cool but that is about it...going to have to take it back and then get another radio nin the jeep with aux input....
DEF NOT WORTH THE $80...

this is something you can do to help. get your sync cable... or car charger.
and plug it into the transmitter. It will help the reception a whole lot. Mine works fine in my room without it, but in the car I usually take the sync cable with me. you can just have the sync cable near the transmitter and it will greatly help. anyway... my truck has an aux port so I just use that when I drive... but my sister's car along with my mom's don't have it, so I use the transmitter in there.

you can always try the hack where you solder a wire to the antennae on the circuit board of the fm transmitter to give it better reception. I did it to one I bought of ebay for cheap, and it works a lot better. its really simple, and the only thing that happened to mine is the buttons don't make a click sound anymore and i left a small bottom piece off to run the wire thru.

i saw the hacks that have been done. i was interested in the router antenna 1. what i am thinking is that if i call for the warranty and they send me a new one i would try it on the one i have now. never used a soder so i dont know how it would come out.
do u have any pix of what you did? and any pix of the soder u did?

thanks again Lancer. I called CS and the guy was pretty cool. He asked me some general questions and said that it seemed that I had tried everything so that he was going to go ahead and send me a new FM transmitter. I should have the new one within 3-5 days. I couldnt beleive it. Never even asked me when i got it.
Anyway thanks again, and ill post back once i get the new one....hopefully it'll work....

I bought a 10 piece accessory bundle from an ebay seller of which it included an FM transmitter....it works absolutely fine
I paid only $19 for the entire accessory kit (FM transmitter, A/V cables, Home USB charger, Car USB charger, silicone skin cover, clear plastic cover, screen protector, headset, lanyard, arm band). All the electronic parts worked fine. |

Hello everyone, I just got my Zune on Friday of last week and I love it. I also bought the Belkin TuneBase today in the mail, and it is going back tomorrow. I have the Iriver tuner and it works wonderful, but I like the idea of the Belkin casue it charged the Zune as well. Guess I will keep the Iriver until somehting new comes out that works better.

I just got a regular FM transmitter from radio shack that plugs into the headphone jack. It's not pretty but it works.

You could try this, Scosche FM-MOD01 Modulator
I am going to Radio Shack to see if they have any in stock today. Pretty easy to install, they have some splices that you don't have to cut your radio wires so it makes for a nice and easy installation. |

ok so my question with that is am i going to be able to control the volume on the radio and zune???? i have the rca's in the back of my radio now. problem is that i have to have the volume at one and then control from the Zune. Its a jeep wrangler with 33's so once moving it gets pretty loud and way over powers the zune......so if i could control it from the radio itself i would be able to use that....

hello there people, i have the car pack too and it sucks i said in another part here that I even had to pinch it where the sunroof comes to get a bit of signal, but right now i saw a video of somebody that pulled out 250 Ft. of range in it, just with a cable, so I start guessing where to put that cable. I didnt think it twice and opened my transmitter, easy thing just with a knive open it all the way around, inside it has 2 boards. one tears alone for the display and other one stays on the 2nd part, pull that one out and behind there is a piece that has the reception on it, I attached a cable to it and tested it and it worked HELL YEAH!! I closed and when I turned it on my zune worked well, Before I had to leave the zune near the receiver of my home theater to get signal, now i can even use go with to the bathroom lol, it works pretty around the house, later today I will hang out so I will tell ya how it worked on streets...
