I guess I'm a little late to the party, but I had to put in my two cents. I bought the DLO trans dock, and it didn't work worth a crap. I live in Houston, so pretty much every FM frequency is full of garbage music. I did find a station that it would pick the Zune up from, but it sounded far worse than AM quality.
I returned it and bought the Zune car kit, and the sound difference was astounding. Most days it's better than FM quality. There are times that the signal is cut off by other transmitters in other cars, or around toll gates. It's worked well on road trips to Corpus Christi, Dallas and Austin on the same frequency. The next car I purchase will have to have an MP3 player jack so I don't have to worry about this crap anymore. ![]() |

I'm still in the market for a car cradle/transmitter. Sadly the one I had for the Ipod was perfect, the zune one sucks so bad.

I have had really good results with the IRiver AFT-100. It does a fine job in my 2000 Toyota Camray. I bought it on Ebay for $7.99!! I have found 3 FM stations in the Pittsburgh, Pa area that are free of interference and the IRiver transmits clearly to them. I am quite pleased with the IRIver FM transmitter.

I notice that the Zune Transmitter casing is coated with copper on the inside. Has anyone bent the antenna to ensure the antenna touches this copper coating? This may be all you need to do to increase the quality of signal.
