Default Zune headphone fix

About a few months ago I dropped my zune and the headphone jack broke. It wouldn't work on the left side sometimes, no matter what headphone I use. The only way to get it fix was to send it to a third party repair service for sixty dollars in order to solder a ten dollar jack. so I sucked it up and listened to one headphone because I'm pretty cheap and cant afford that, Anyway Browsing amazon I find this Zune travel pack for 24.00.
it includes premium headphones, a ac adapter, a sync cable, a gear bag, and most importantly a dual headphone remote control plug. the remote lets me connect headphones from the sync cable port. Basically this is everything I need, half of the price of ripoff repair service, and I can keep the 3,000 songs I've collected on my zune. I'm pretty happy of this purchase.

oh yeah link to pack. Amazon.com: Zune Travel Pack: ElectronicsAmazon.com: Zune Travel Pack: Electronics

That's cool. I was looking at this a few months ago myself. What type of Zune do you have?

One time I had a piece of earphone in my jack... what I did was heat a needle stick it in the jack and pull out the piece, glad it worked...

Did you test the Car Pack, yet? I ask because the problem with the LOD (line out dock) is that it's usually not amped, like the headphone jack. This is not a problem is you are using it in a home stereo / car stereo, as the stereo itself will be the amp. But, with just headphones, there is no amp so the volume will be very low.

If you find this to be the case, the only way to "fix" this is to get a headphone amp. I would recommend the FiiO E5, as it's relatively cheap (around $20), has a volume control which you may need, and it actually does improve the sound on the Zune 30 - makes it a little "punchier".
