Default Burning in Earbuds?...

ive heard people say that they burn in their ear buds over night to make them sound better, but i have no idea what that term means.

is it leaving the sound blasting or something?....

not sure, but blasting their speakers is deifinitly not what they do. Blasting the speakers can make your ear buds make poppnig sounds and static noises

Quality headphones/earbuds shouldn't have to be burnt in. But if you do, just leave them at comfortable hearing level overnight I guess.

to "burn them in" is to break them in... most internet sites would tell you to play them at the loudest level to break in the plastic and magnets and copper.

if you ask me it's a load of bull, but some people think it helps the quality of the headphones.

i keep hearing everyone with $100+ earbuds say that their buds sound better after burning them in, but when you think about it, it does sound more like a mind trick than an actual method of improving sound.

i dont think i will be doing this just for the fact that i was always told to never have headphones up too loud for too long because the vibration from the sound waves might loosen the internal workings of the headphones. plus, i dont see whats wrong with how they sound now anyway.

I just got some new earbuds and I can not see how they can sound any better.I think the people who did it just say it sounds better to justify doing it. Like when you go see a bad movie you say it was good just because you saw it.

that's probably true.... when you think about what those things are made out of it's hard to think that doing anything to them will effect them in any way.

I've poked holes in the plastic cone of headphones before and they sounded the same... I've broken them open and messed with parts and they still sounded the same... they're only made out of a magnet copper wire and plastic.... what can breaking them in really do?

in guitar amps it's common that a speaker change a bit of it sound
after it been "kicked in". some guitarist do it intentionally, playing at above normal level for period of time.

i think there might be a bit of physical truth in it.
but it's mostly a psychological effect.

any way the elements in headphones are far more delicate
and pushing them at high volume for such a long time will probably ruin them.

and yeah my English sucks but It's not my native language...

Well, my Shure e2C's did sound a hell better after a while.
I red in Cnet the same for the e3c's.
Something to do with the elastic parts loosening up a bit.
I didn't "burn" them, just after some use it all started sounding nicer.
By the way I listen to them, and have always had, in Zune's volume 3
