What's With The Lack of Good Zune Cases?

I bought a nice PCMS Forza leather case (no flap) with a swivel belt clip and my Z80 fit perfectly. The case broke and I sent it back for replacement but all that seems to be available anywhere now that is similar are Kroos cases which are too big and the Zune flops around in it and the controls are very hard to use. I tried a metal case but it too is too big.

The other available leather cases don't have belt clips or they have a flap. I use my case while skating and need to access the controls without fumbling with a flap and I don't want to wear one on my arm. I also need to see the menu while using it the car. I need to remove it easily for use in my stand.

I've searched all over and can't find anything else. I don't get it...Zune's are increasing in sales and yet the availability of cases is decreasing and the ones that are available either don't fit or aren't versatile. I wouldn't consider my use needs to be unusual. A decent quality case without a flap with a rotating belt clip that fits properly. WTF???

well, sadly there's this thing called an ipod. This ipod is the center of attention for accessories developers. When they see the ipod they see $. When they see the zune, as small as its user base is compared to the ipod, they see waste. I'm right there with you though, it's expensive for pos cases..

I get that to a point. If everyone and the grandmother is making iPod cases, even though the market is huge, so is the competition and one would think there is more money to be made with fewer competitors in a smaller market.

And why the crap fit cases? Why are they now all made way too big...by a good 1/4"? The 80 & 120 are the same size! Aren't Zune 80 & 120 combined sales in the millions now? At the beginning of '08, there were a lot more cases available. What happened all of a sudden. Zune has been around now with ever increasing sales and iPods have been around for years now so its not like they just figured out the iPod market was bigger.

I use a (black) Speck ToughSkin 80/120 GB Case for my Zune 120 and it works great for me. It has no flaps, it comes with a rotating belt clip (makes a good stand too when I want to set it down while I listen), and the case provides plenty of protection for my Zune. Hey, I have a buddy who has a cool case for his (gasp!) ipod that is shiny silver and looks opaque when the screen is off, but when the screen is on, you can see it very clearly. Is there any chance that there is something similar available for our zunez? 30 gig?

just buy a speck case its rubber and but the zagg screen sheild for like 20 bucks and it works great

Ditto, I got a very cool case from them for my 120Gb, It has Racing Stripes and a removable belt clip, it doesn't rotate though. I got it from amazon here Amazon.com: Incipio Race Day Leather Flip Case... I have had this case for almost a month now and the Zune fits snugly and I have had no problems with it so far. One other thing you can do, less for protection though, is get a skin from http://www.decalgirl.com/browse.cfm/2,260.htm They have tons of them for the Zune.

I found generic Zune cases at my local grey market under a pile of iPod accesorries. Silicone and a hard plastic ones @ $12 & $14.

Not to shabby the Silicone one has a nice grip and not too much bulk.
The plastic one came with an optional belt clip & lanyard similar to the ZuneOne.net case in the sticky except thinted black & black plastic for the clip.

Then I got my Invisishield I got 50% off...
