Default Zune iHome... Any good?

I'm interested in the iHome for the Zune and was curious of people's experiences with it. It looks nice and just wanted to hear some reviews...

Thanks!

That's kind of what I thought. I would love it to dock Zunes with cases on it Anyone know if it does?

Hey! Your in luck. Just recently I did a full review of this unit.
Overall, I love it. I have had some minor issues with reset, but that seems to only affect it when i'm plugging/unplugging it.. and I think it may be a malfunction with my specific unit. As far as docking with cases, it depends what zune model you have.. The Zune 4/8 can easily be docked with a case, but the zune 80/30 you would have to use the dock without an adapter, and the case would have to be fairly skinny.
Check out the full review here though.

I refuse to pay $100 for a small clock radio with a dock. I went instead with this setup. Total cost $54:

Zune in dock connected to Creative Inspire T3000 speakersCreative Inspire T3000 speakers (found for $30 on eBay). I found the official Zune A / V pack (dock + AC adapter + remote) for $24 on eBay.

This way, I get much better sound, with the subwoofer and better designed (woofer + tweeter) speakers, for much less money. I plan on using the Zune alarm clock application for when I need an alarm.

I'll try to post a full review when I get time.

Please, don't call it an iHome. That's for the iPod. You could call it a dock, or something else.

No... It's an iHome for Zune. iHome is the brand of the dock the OP is referring to.

Thumbs up For a clock radio 10/10

I recently bought a ZN9B from buy.com for around 87.00 shipped priority. My girlfriend owns an ihome for her 5gen ipod (gross) and this system by far blows her sound quality out of the water. It has an overall sleek look and the screen is a cool dimmable ambient blue. Its sound quality doesn't match something like a bose system but it is superior for a clock radio. It comes with 3 insert plates for 8/4 30 and 120 models. The dual alarm is useful for setting weekend/weekday alarms. The only fault I found in the item is the lack of a remote. The sound can easily fill a dorm size room, kitchen, bathroom, small bed room or living room. A remote can be purchased from ihome.com for a mere 20.00+s&h. I was very disappointed to find my remote for my v1 av dock could not be used with the ihome (c'mon M$). Anyway a great buy in my opinion, fits my life and is very useful. Just remember this is a CLOCK RADIO do not rely on this system for your next keg party...

they should rename the unit the zHome for the zune ... just because. I know it's a company name but heck, its their company.

I just picked one of these up today, and my first impressions are pretty positive.

For the price, the sound quality is definitely impressive, and the EQ is quite handy (and does make a noticeable difference to the sound quality). When the unit is turned on as well, it gradually increases the sound volume.

There is only two main gripes I have. When the Zune is playing, the backlight is always on (added light when you're trying to sleep). Secondly, you can't assign a specific radio preset to an alarm (something I could do on a few Sony clock radios I've owned over the years).

Overall though, the unit appears that it will serve me quite well -- and my Zune will always be charged when I head out in the mornings now.

...but a computer speaker alone won't function as an alarm clock / clock radio as well -- which is what the iHome product is designed for. As such, it does its job well.
