My portible sound system
Future back problems are inevitable, but the brace is holding up well and I've only had to have one hip replaced so far!

I bought $20 cute speakers with decent sound quality from a Chinese store that actually doesn't sell bootleg things, they sell authentic products for reasonable prices. Of course, it's not there anymore because that was like 2 years ago.....xDDD
But looking at your needs, I'd say go for the i-station for now. And it looks ok, too (I just looked it up XDDD) If you need to find more speakers, you can try going to cnet. ^^ ![]() ![]() |

JBL Spot is my choice.. it is small to carry around and sound quality is pretty good.. enough for portable. It is an iPod speaker but has AUX. it can be powered by battery or AC adapter. price range was $20-$100.. but i'm pretty sure its $100 now.

its cheap....but I have one of these. It folds up into about a 3" square. Pretty dang loud too. runs of AAA batteries and last quite a while. Cheap, but an option

i bought the i.sound 4x foldable portable speakers from circuit city...i got it in white but recently i just found out they have it in black...it looks soo much nicer...but these are good...I'm not sure if this is the same as above but I doubt it.
it cost about $25 (free shipping on orders over $24 at circuit city). It runs on 6 AA batteries (lasts long enough), but it comes with an AC adaptor...which I usually try to use as much as possible when I use the speakers to save the battery life. It's pretty good quality and is really loud for places like the car, a hotel room, etc. It's not exactly a couple of subwoofers or anything but it's really nice.. I definitely recommend it indeed. Hope this helps out ~peace.

I happen to be a powered speaker freak. All the way from this:
iSymphony thru this: These are really good but only run on a laptop with USB port: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/no...s/200&cl=us,en SONY sells a lot of these type speakers but not always the best. This one in particular is not so good for the price: Sony SRS-T33 (blue) Portable Speaker reviews - CNET Reviews The bottom line is how much you want to spend, and how small do you want them to be. Bigger size and price usually mean better sound. There are even boomboxes now with aux in jacks that can serve as travel speakers for Zune. The ideal would be a rechargeable dock that connects to the Zune USB plug, and is small enuf to carry. |
