I am looking for a receiver for my car, and i'm looking for one that will interface with my zune. Is there a car stereo out there that will do this?

not that i know of, your best bet is to get one with a aux port on it, and use it that way, that's the way i do it, haven't listen to the radio in over a year now!

There aren't any that accept the Zune USB connection yet. Car stereos with a USB port are mainly for flash drives, or anything that identifies itself as a Windows Mass Storage Device. The Zune does not do this. So AUX in is still the way to go for now. I find the Zune output is a bit low thru the headphone jack for most car stereos. I have to turn the volume to max, and then look out when I switch back to radio.
Theoretically, the Zune Dock could be powered from a car USB port and used to boost the audio in to a AUX input. The main challenge then would be where to put the dock. |

I'm going with the AUX set up. My Zune actually should be arriving tomorrow so I can't comment on how it sounds, but you basically run a cable from your stereo (my AUX in was in the back) to wherever and you hook it up to your Zune's headphones jack. Its pretty much condensing your stereo into headphones albeit with much better sound quality, I'd think.

Go to Wally World and buy an FM modulator (about $28.00).
It fits into the light connector in the car and you can hook a USB cable to it. You select an FM station on the modulator and it'll play through the stereo. A flash stick will work also. ![]()

I got a "Soundgate Zune Cable Pack"...it wires into the car, connects to any head unit with an aux port of some sort and connect to the Zune port on the Zune...it will also charge the Zune and doesn't have the low volume issue using the headphone output...
I have no affiliation with that company, I just found it works well for me...

I may have just wasted 60 bucks. :S If that's the case I'll have to pick up another cable. The dock is cool though, except it doesn't fit with a case. :< |
