Default Any other recommended in the ear headphones for the Zune?

I am using only the premium headphones that came with the Zune and to be honest, I think they sound good.

Are there any other in the ear headphones worth taking a look at?

Thanks!

I was also going to suggest the Marshmallows, they come in a variety of colors and don't hurt your ears for using them in long periods of time.

skull candy also makes some good in ear headphones, you might want to check some of those out.

I Highly recommend the V-Moda Bass Freq's. They Look Great, Feel Great and most of all Sound Great. I definitely recommend them more then any earbuds Skullcandy makes... Though for some strange reason the prices on amazon for Bass Freq's is constantly changing(Almost Daily) depending on the Color you want. Currently you can get Black ones for $30+Free Super Saver Shipping, which is $20 less then they normally go for. Or White ones for a couple dollars less.

Skullcandy has a reputation for making mostly mediocre sounding products (relative to the retail price) for the most part, basically they market looks over quality. Bose has a similar reputation, as far as making far overpriced products for the quality they offer.

but some of the quality on skullcandy isn't good at all.. really depends on what kind your getting... since i tried out only 1.. i didn't like it.. then seems like now i don't like that brand wasted $15 on the earphone... i would not recommend skullcandy that much... JVC for low price earphones.. for higher price.. should try JBL, Vmoda, Shure, Bose, Sony, etc..

I own three pairs of SkullCandy headphones.

My favorite are by far the 9mm Full Metal Jackets. They sound better than the Zune headphones and the Marshmallows. They are made of aluminum and can go through hell and back and still work fine. However, I paid $50 for these headphones and I realize that this may be more than some are willing to pay for headphones.

Next, I've got a pair of their SkullCrushers. These ones have a built in Sub of some sort and have really good sound quality.I use these ones primarily for my recording studio when I do vocals but they are also good for the Zune. These are an "on the ear headphone" and I think I paid about $35 for these.

The last pair that I have is the SkullCandy GIs. I was pretty dissapointed in these ones considering the performance of the other two SC I have. They are not very loud and they are severly lacking in the low and highs. The middle range is just too much and I haven't used these since I first tried them out. i have not tried them on the Zune so I can't speak for what they sound like on the Zune but for recording they were just awful.

I've also used the Smokin Buds and these are a good set of headphones that don't cost too much.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

Have you used any earphones other than Skullcandy phones, Marshmallows, and Zune?

Yeah I have... I've got a bunch of headphones, the last few posts were talking about how skullcandy sucked and I just wanted to jump in there.

I probably own around 20 sets of headphones mostly in the 20-30 dollar range and anything from Sony to JVC to Philips to Shure...

Ok, I only ask because I always want to know what frame of reference people have, good sound quality to someone who has never spent more than $20 on earphones is much different than someone who regularly spends over $100. So, when you say the 9mm FMJ & Skullcrushers are good, I see they both go for around $50 on Amazon, have you used any other in-ears or full-sized phones around that price point?

I've used a lot of very expensive headphones in my recording studio I've just never spent over 50 bucks on in ear headphones for my MP3 player. I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD595's that I use for tracking drums and occasionally vocals. Those set me back about 200 bucks and they sound great but I realize that this is not a practical price to pay for use with an MP3 player. I might occasionally break them out if I'm sitting at home and listening to my Zune but very rarely. I'm not going to carry around a $200 set of headphones around with me for them to get broken... I refuse to pay that much for a pair of headphones that are going to get hauled around all over the place.

I've not used too many in ear headphones or on ear headphones within that same price range though now that I think about it... Got any suggestions.

My main in-ear set is the Crossroads MylarOne X3i's, the production and marketing of them is pretty limited, I got them for $57 http://www.jaben.net/. From what I've tried, I think they are probably the best sounding in-ears you can get in the price range, I've compared them to a some that sell for over $100 (from Denon), and the sound quality doesn't differ much. They definitely skimp on the build quality to achieve the low price on them, luckily they have a good one year warranty on them. The Sennheiser CX300 can also be found around that price, they're not bad, they over emphasize the bass somewhat.

As for on ear headphones (haven't tried the 2nd pair, but they're supposed to be good):

I say try the BOSE quiet3 over ear headphones. $179 at bb and they are phenomenal I am not an audiophile, but I can tell the difference in highs and lows, mids and tweets. I like to use billy joel's piano man to determine if a headset will meet my needs and the Bose set blew me away. They are not noise canceling, but they really do the job for me.
as far as noise canceling ones go, I like the Jabra set. They were WOOTED for $60 bucks i think and they do a great job in the yard. They really block out the mower and weedeater noise when you have the noise canceling on. Heck, I was groovin today and the neighbor caught me.
