Zune A/V Dock 1st Gen

I just got my 1st Gen A/V dock for use with my 80 gig Zune. It works great. I understand that the face plate comes off to work with the 80 gig however it looks boring with just the black top and no Zune logo so I modified it to accomodate my 80. It works great, as I said and considering what I paid for it (20 bucks) Im very pleased. The only thing that sucks about it is when I hook it up to my 42in Samsung Plasma the picture quality is absolute crap. I mean I can read everything with no problems but it just looks very diluted. I tried hooking my Zune up to the tv directly, completely bypassing the dock but it gives the same result so I doubt that it's the dock giving the substandard picture. Is this normal? It is just one of those things that we have to deal with or am I missing something? I've tried different resolution settings on my TV to no avail. Suggestions?

Also, I'm thinking about getting another one for use in my car using a tape adapter. Do they make car A/C adapters that allow you to just plug the sync cable in like it does with the A/C adapter? Has anyone else tried using this in their car?
