Skullcandy phones aren't good, avoid that brand. Only the first generation of Vibes is good from what I've read, the subsequent incarnations of the Vibes is poorly regarded for the price. Not that they'll be bad, but they aren't good for the price. I haven't heard those specific Sony's, but I've found that the less inexpensive Sony phones tend to be muddy.

Yesterday, I received a pair Denon AH-C751's that I ordered, and from what I've read about the Denon AH-C551's, in terms of their resemblance to the sound of the 751's, I really have to renew my suggestion that the AH-C551's would be your best choice for under $75, they should be exactly what you want, good bass (not muddy), and nice mids and highs
