I'm trying to decide which case I should get. I've heard that the Crystal case scratches easy and the Silicon case not fitting perfectly. Is this true?

uhh... i'll still go with the crystal clear case... silicon case is pretty useless to be honest.. besides improving grip.. not much protection.

Crystal Cases scratch very easily and do notprotect your Zune against drops. Well, it does in a sense. Silicone is softer and is able to distribute shock from drops better. Crystal cases cannot do that as well and will sometimes pop open if they hit the ground (this isn't good for your Zune obviously). Crystal cases will give you peace of mind if your Zune is in your pocket, though, or anywhere else, while silicon will not because most of them do not protect your screen from debris or anything else in your pocket that will damage your screen. They both have flaws, honestly. I've got a crystal case and I don't like it at all. I'm going leather soon. Leather-flipcases are okay going in the pocket, have beltclips, protect from scratches and drops because they're soft enough to absorb the shock from impact. They will also protect your screen.

It would be safer than having nothing, but I would still be cautious. I have silicone cases for my iPods, as well as a silicone case, and I have a crystal case for my Zune. The silicone cases feel much safer to me, especially when I make the mistake of dropping my device. If nothing is protecting your screen other than the invisible shield, then I would still be careful about where you sit or put your Zune. You still don't want your screen coming into contact with objects in your pocket. Just because the Invisible Shield is resistant to sharp objects like keys doesn't mean that you should test it ; ).

Don't get the crystal case if you use the hold switch. You have no access to it, unless you use a pencil or something...

IMHO get the Zuneone Silicone Case w/ an full body Invisible Shield. The crystal case is good no doubt about it but scratches way too easily, dust gets in side the case easily as well..well atleast the zune 80 does in my experience. Get the silicone one and a invisible shield.
Edit: The crystal case will protect from drops better, but the zunes are pretty well strong and "tank". IMHO all you need really is an IS and a silicone case.

Exactly. Everyone always recommends them, but I never trust my screen with durable plastic (or whatever the material is). I'm going leather. If you don't like leather, then I can't really say which is better. Both have flaws. Crystal protects your screen the best, but it smudges really bad and with the one I have it lets in so much dust. I'm always cleaning my screen (thank goodness for microfiber)! Quote:
. it depends on which crystal case you get. The one from Zuneone.net has an opening and using the hold switch is really easy. I believe the one from agent18 does as well, but I can't say for sure and I'm too lazy to visit their site right now.Silicon protects from drops better. A crystal case can pop open (happened to me twice) and your Zune will come right out.

I think silicone, because as stated it will absorb the shock.

Really I've had my zune 80 dropped by other people many times...I know sad right..but yeah it's fine still. Just the wireless tab thing is kind of wiggly/loose...hard to explain. Not loose/wiggly enough to come off though. so it's all good.

I guess it depends on the brand? All of my silicone cases are from iSkin, who makes the best iPod cases out there, and they've very durable (expensive too). I don't know who makes silicone cases for the Zune, though, or what the quality is. What I'm getting at is that silicone can be very durable depending on the quality.
