I'm also trying to decide which one to get, I'm leaning towards the silicon, because it looks like it will absorb shock better, but then again it won't protect the screen or protect from pressure or torsion like the crystal will. Maybe I should just get the silicon and the crystal and stick the zune with the silicon in the crystal. Jk I'll probably just get the silicon and a screen protector.
EDIT: My brother had this setup on his iPod but then dropped a weight on it and completely broke the screen. Thats what I'm afraid of.

He dropped a weight on it. Most crystal cases aren't going to protect you from that either, depending on where it's hit. Who drops weights on their music players! That must have been a heck of an accident.

Yeah I don't get it either. I think he might have been trying to put it back on the rack and his iPod was on the floor or something I'm not sure but now the videos on there are rendered useless. He can still tell what song he selects, but half of the screen is all white. the other half is all wierd and there's white lines every second row of pixels.

One of my iPod's screen cracked as well,, though my accident was much less dramatic. It was in a silicone case in my locker and when I came to get it out the screen had cracked. It was only underneath, though, and I still do not know how it happened. Apple replaced it, though.

Sounds like someone needs a new MP3 player. Shall I suggest the Zune made by a little company called Microsoft?

Too late he bought a replacement screen. Though he still hasn't gotten around to replace it.

Poor iPod . Mine both look brand new. Well, my Nano is starting to look a little worn on the center click button. Anyway, there are several ways to upgrade or replace your battery, harddrive, or just replace your screen. It's much cheaper than buying a brand new player. One company gives you a new backplate and replaces your battery with one with a longer charge and lifespan.
