My new eyecandy is Skullcandy...

and it's my new earcandy

Went to Target and paid $30 (on sale from $50) for Skullcandy's Full Metal Jacket 9MM. The packaging is very sharp.

Upon opening them, one is overwhelmed that this is something special. You have to hand it to SK's design department -- these are the slickest looking earbuds I have ever seen. They almost have a Ed Hardy artistic look about them.

Inside you get the earphones, a zippered case, 3 sets of ear canal seals, 2 stickers, and a stencil. The cables have a very stiff rubbery texture to them to avoid tangling. The earpieces, in-line volume control, and headphone jack topper is aluminum (not plastic). And the headphone jack itself is gold-plated.

When I pulled them out of the packaging and plugged them into my Zune 8 my first impressions were, "Hmmmm these sound nice." Afterwards, I plugged in my original zune earbuds and then my larger at home headphones -- then it really hit me how much better these are in comparison. From what I understand from the numerous reviews I have read about these, they will only sound better after being broken in. So, I look forward to the sound being even better

All in all, this is a pretty incredible set of phones for $30.

Dang those look sweet with your red flash zune. Thanks for the pics, I really want those headphones now but in black or white. If I was you I wouldn't let anyone use them but yourself. But yeah gratz on the sweet new headphones! D*m those headphones look so good...=D

They look great. I'd get some in black, but I've yet to see anything like these in my Target and I refuse to go to Walmart *shudders*.

, but I guess it doesn't matter to every corporation. They'd actually save money if they cut back on packaging. Small and compact packaging (like the Zune80 packaging) actually looks classy/sleek to me which is better.

They come in several colors ... obviously red, but also black, green, blue, silver and pink. You gotta see them in person because they are aluminum and the paint (all the colors) has an amazing metallic look. Seriously, these are the best looking buds I've ever seen.

Hey ChriZtian,

The ones at CC for $10 are not the Full Metal Jackets, I believe they are the ink'd buds model from Skullcandy. They are not made out of aluminum, but plastic. But they still look wicked awesome and have a great performance vs. price ratio. Be sure to post yours

Damn... That red matches perfectly... Looks really nice. I like my Zune Premiums, but who knows... Maybe I'll pick up a pair of black ones sometime in the future. Today, I found like 3 things $30+ I want to buy. lol.

the ink'd sucks though.. i wouldn't say its any good.. but maybe the full metal jacket ones are a lot better.. i don't really trust that brand mainly..

Lol yup, I really want the headphones you got in black though but don't feel like spending more than $10 on headphones atm. Kind of saving my $$ for something..So I'll just get the ink'd buds model from skullcandy. Because the zune premium buds are killing me. I hate that weird cord sound when they rub on something and they keep gettn' themselves all coiled up and twisted it's very annoying. If I don't get them tomorrow I'll get them on thursday, because on thursday I can get a ride for a sure don't know about tomorrow though. Gratz on the hott earbuds again though.

If anyone is interested in buying a pair, I noticed the "sale" sign had an ending date of 4-14-08. So, you better get your funds together before then, otherwise I assume they will go back to their regular price of $49.99.
