Lightbulb Check this out and tell me it exist

I know a lot of zune owners have their zunes hooked up to their cars. For now i have it using a cassette adapter with the factory radio on my 05 Silverado Truck.

Soon i'm going to get an after market car stereo (Without a cassette off course ) and have been looking for solutions to connect my Zune 80 to it.

I want to connect the zune to the stereo using the sync port to have just one cable out to the head unit.

A could not find anything that would accomplish what i want. But i found a cable for the ipod that does exactly what i want. CHECK IT OUT

As you can see, with that cable you can output audio and provide power to the device at the same time.

So i was wondering if something like that exist for the Zune. And if not, wouldn't that be a great idea

Please tell me it does exist

Not that I know of. If you really want to use the sync port, you could rig up the dual-connect remote.

No, it's not the Zune car kit. That's the FM transmitter. Lare2 want something that goes directly through the stereo and powers the Zune aswell. Thanks for reading all the way through though.

Lare, I've never seen one that exists, but with a little soldering you could get a zune cable on the end of the iPod cord instead. If not, I recommend the Zune FM transmitter (I have it and it works very well).

I drive an 04 Colorado, woohoo almost same truck...not really =D

As Saline mentioned that's an FM transmitter, my brother has it, and to be honest the sound quality i get with the cassette adapter is better. ; )

Thank you for the reply, but then i won't have power to the device going that route.

I'm not that good with electronics and soldering. But wouldn't be great if a company started to sell this cable for the Zune.

Oh and the Colorado are nice trucks specially on this days where gas prices are skyrocketing. My truck eats gas like crazy (V8 Crew Cab)

V8 would be nice to have though. The Colorado has a 5 cylinder in-line, lol. Not the most powerful guy out there.

I've never come across it BUT it must be out there because:

Look how the zune is connected to the car (theres no wire coming out the top of the zune).

I've been trying to find a cable like that since the day i posted this without luck .

I found the following while searching for it, now is someone here with experience on electronics could use it to do this type of cable for the community, I'm pretty sure they would fly away. A lot of people is looking to integrate the zune to the car, and this is the best cable design to do it.

It really is unfathonable that Microsoft has not though of this ! For most consumers their best sound system is in their vehicles, and anyone that has compiled their favorite tunes on a Zune cant take advantage of it. Right now I'm up in the air over purchasing an Pioneer AVIC Z2 or a Kenwood DNX8120 for one of my trucks, both have dedicated input for "IPODs" nothing for ZUNE ! Some one in marketing and or product development at Microsoft has dropped the ball.
