Default Review: ZuneOne.net Zune 80 Silicone Case / Skin

Today, we take a look at the ZuneOne.net Zune 80 Silicone Case / Skin. Another case for the Zune 80 and we see how it performs.

Brand: ZuneOne.net
Item Description: Zune 80 Silicone Case / Skin
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price: $12.00 USD
Manufacturer's Description: "Very thin, Fits perfectly, Stylish, Available in 4 colors, Access all Zune functions, Maximum Zune Protection, Raised and textured buttons, Great value, Includes hard plastic screen protector"

Our Take: The Zune 80 Silicone Case / Skin is an alternative to the Crystal Case we looked at earlier. This case is one solid piece of silicone with a screen protector you slide in to protect the goods. All ports, buttons, and switches are easlily accessable. The case also includes an optional belt clip and strap. Color options are White, blue, black, and pink. They are also available in the smaller flash Zune versions too. This is a perfect way to add some color to the Zune 80 (which up until recently, was available only in black). The Silicone does a better job at adding the color than the Crystal cases, and it feels smooth in your hand. One nice thing about the silicone is it's ability to stay securely on the dash of your car if you drive around. I had the hardest time getting around with my Zune sliding all over the place on my dash while connected to the FM transmitter. The silicone case grabs and easily stays in one spot. The silicone case is thin so it adds only minimal size to the Zune and at this price, you can't complai.

Downsides are few. The softer silicone may not offer as much protection as a hard plastic case would. The silicone, in my tests, did attract dust, but easily wiped off. There's concern if discoloration might occur, but as far as I can tell, that will take a very long time. The belt clip did seem to be a little unstable and could rip over time - but not a deal breaker since it's an optional feature you can choose not to use.

Overview

Pros:
- Durable but soft silione design
- Easy access to switches, buttons, and ports
- Multiple color options
- Optional belt clip and lanyard included

Cons:
- May not protect as well as hard plastic cases
- Tends to attract dust
- Optonal belt clip not too sturdy

Rating: 8 out of 10

Do buy if: You must have slim/soft protection for your Zune for a great price
Don't buy if: You want more durable protection (plastic or leather cases would be an alternative)

hmmm... the only thing different from all the other silicone cases is the strap. Its not really that special.
Also that strap doesnt look like it'll hold for long

my brother had a case with a strap, held up pretty good, but i don't know about this one. i mean, it's a thin case, which means a thin strap.
