Default [Review]Altec Lansing M604 Zune Speaker Dock

This dock is worth money.

Sound 9/10- The sound quality is terrific on this and I've gotten it very loud. The only thing I don't like is that its hard for me to tell the difference when I adjust the treble and bass most of the time.

Size 10/10- Its just the right size that I needed and since I don't have shelf space for it, it fits nicely on top of the floor tom on my drumset.

Portability 5/10- I wish it would of came with with a dc in that could hold batteries outside of the speaker dock itself. Its only 6.5 Lbs. so its pretty lightweight.

Wireless Remote 8/10- The remote works well most of the time for me but its not a point anywhere remote, you have to make sure you have the dock facing you to use the remote.

Zune functionality 10/10- It has features that are truly great like composite video out and you can even sync your sune through a miniusb in the back. All music and videos sound and function great. It also charges your zune and clicking your zune in is so very easy

Overall I'd definetly reccomend it but here are some things you need to now.
1- The volume on the zune doesnt matter in the dock unless it is 0
2- To change the bass or treble press the bass or treble button then press volume up or down.
3- It also has an audio in with a cable so it is fun to play or watch movies on a PSP or DS.
4- I used a zune 30 with the dock other zunes may have different results but I doubt it.
5- You can still order them from here. Thanks Abouna for talking about that in a different thread. Though I purchased mine of woot.com

Thanks for reading my review

I just wanted to make an addendum, if you will, to your portability rating because I also think it would be great if it had some kinda handle so that it was easier to pick up and move when necessary maybe not a full handle, but an indentation on the back of the speaker so that you can grab and move more easily.

In all still a great unit especially if you got it at the discount price like I did...
Thanx for the review Trogdor!

Same here.

I threw it in my kitchen and listen to podcasts when I'm cooking.

I think my next step is to mod my Bose docking station for the zune for upstairs use.

If you figure out a way to mod the Bose docking station let me know. I have one sitting on the shelf collecting dust as we don't have our iPods anymore...thank goodness.

I have this, caught the woot for 45$. I love it, especially the passthrough feature so I can connect it to my comp with a mini usb cable.
