Default Zune Docks


i've been doing some online shopping for zune docks and i've found both a round and squarish one. what is the difference in the 2?

Round is the v1 square is the v2.

If you have a 2nd Generation Zune device (4/8/80 gb) it isn't designed to fit in the older round docks (the connector at the bottom of the dock is positioned too close to the back of the dock slot). If you remove the top round cover, then the Zune v2 will fit in the slot (I've confirmed this with my Zune 80). It's a slightly tight fit, but not too bad. The cover comes off easily by pressing a small horizontal button in the remote control slot (behind the Zune slot).

What's nice, is that the round Zune docks are much cheaper than the newer v2 Zune docks.

The round dock will not work with v2 Zunes without modding it....

Yes, as I mentioned you simply remove the top cover.
