Default Altec-Lansing M604

I want some opinions from musicians for the Altec-Lansing M604. How is the sound quality? How is the bass, because it has that Xdb bass effect, and im not a fan of processed sounds!! I love the subwoofers, and im not sure whether or not a should throw in 125 bucks for somethin with crappy sound. If it all possible, compare it to something made by Bose.

Bose is superior in everything it does....but the Altec Lansing M604 is pretty good and gets the job done. I am amazed at the bass and treble response it produces. It is better than my computer speakers (which are ironically made by Altec Lansing too...) and don't you dare drop $125 when I put up something like this: http://www.zuneboards.com/content/view/227/1/

Bose is nice but they arnt nearly as nice as they used to be. Their quality has faded a little, they are still REALLY nice though. The bass is pretty wicked for something the size of a shoe box but if you turn it up TOO much it gets distorted and a little crackly(bass and volume all the way up). The sound quality is great and really fills a room. I love mine and it has a universal dock/cable for any other music player with a headphone jack.

Listening to my Altec Lansing 604 right now with my 80g zune. It is just really amazing sounding for the price ($40 on woot! incredible!) If you are looking, wait for another Woot. Check at midnight (1AM est) woot.com, sellout.woot.com, and hopefully they will put another one up. If you want bang for your buck this is the route to go.

I too like my Altec Lansing 604 for $49 !!! The price is unbeatable !! But if Bose would come out with a Zune-Compatible speaker dock, I probably would fork out the money !

If you have to have a dock that is made for the Zune then the Altec-Lansing M604 is the way to go and I got my for 40 bucks on buy.com. I love the sound quality and the size of the speakers. Check out this review by Trogdor

so do you need an adapter to fit the 80g into the dock? I have the 30, but am planning on upgrading, but don't want to loose my speakers and AV kit. TIA,

kohr-ah, I have the original one, and I didn't get adapters for it except to plug in an mp3 player. I will have to check it out. Thanks!

I bought one back in september 07 and have used it in my office every day since. Then I wooted one for the garage. My manager loved it so much she bought one for herself and her husband to use at their house via woot. They really are pretty good.
