Anyone got one of these:
http://www.summitimage.com/p-1222-5-...ter-black.aspx I'm thinking that the Microsoft Car Kit might be better, but I don't know. This one looks appealing because it's got a cradle and all, but what do I know? Please advise on the best one you've used. Thx. |

I just bought this one
consumerdepot.com/products.asp?id=9DP-00002V I haven't received it yet, but you can't beat the price. I can't post links yet, but hopefully this will work so you can cut-and-paste it. UPDATE: I got it in the mail today and it's not quite what I thought it would be. First off, I thought it would be all one piece with the fm transmitter built into the car charger plug and the Zune would sit in the transmitter like a stand. Instead, this is a small transmitter that plugs into the bottom of the Zune and a car adapter cord plugs into the bottom of the transmitter just like it would directly into a Zune without the transmitter. Unfortunatley, it looks like if you plug the transmitter into the bottom of your Zune it never comes off. I don't know if I want an extra inch and a half sticking out the bottom of my Zune permanently. It's big enough already. Last edited by Lister22 : 09-22-2007 at 05:49 PM. ![]() |

Wow. It would be a real drag if it never came off. I got the MS one, and it plugs into the bottom of the Zune, but it comes right off when you unplug it. The drawbacks to the MS one are: 1) people have reported on another thread that reception is bad, but mine works, 2) it doesn't have a cradle, 3) the price is a bit steep for what it is. All in all though, once I found a frequency with no static, I am happy with it. Now I've got to find a good cradle.

Look at the pic on the semi-link I provided and tell me if it's the same one. If so, then I will try to attach the transmitter if it comes off easily. It just looks like it may lock on. Does your transmitter have the Zune usb plug on the bottom?

Wow. That is a good price. I paid $80 or so at Circuit City. It's the same one. Mine has the Zune logo on it. It comes off. You just wiggle it. Works fairly well, especially for what you paid for it
![]() I found tuning easier by using the up arrows on the side and not holding them down. Holding them down makes it advance to some presets, while you can advance click by click on the broadcast channel and test each one out for the best performance if you just tap the button. |

If you just got it, take it back then order it online. Free shipping on top of the low price! Hell, that's probably worth $60. Unfortunately, I wanted the transmitter/cradle combo so I had a place to put the Zune in my car. Maybe I'll get that later.
