Unhappy Please help...Guest Syncing not working (zune 80)

My laptop is being fixed so my dad is letting me borrow his for a while when he is not using it. I installed the zune software in hopes of guest syncing a few videos to my zune. When I plug it in, the zune charges, but the zune software doesn't show that the zune is connected (on the device section, it says connect your zune to see the sync status). Also, will guest syncing it wipe all my other stuff out, or will the videos I guest sync (if you can help me figure out how...) just be added in addition to the stuff I currently have on it? Thanks for any help you can give me.

P.S. I hope I posted this in the right forum...

According to Microsoft your media will not get deleted by guest syncing but make sure you are guest syncing and not normally because then it will.

Alright thank you, now I just have to figure out why the zune software isn't detecting my device...

The most important part of the issue was not answered. How the heck do you fix the guest sync issue?

I'm trying to sync to my work PC to update some "rights" to music I've had for a while nothing happens. What the hell???

If the computer/laptop you are on right now is not you zune's home computer then it should ask to connect as a guest once you connect it.
As a guest, nothing on your zune will be removed, so you can add all you want without your media bieing removed
Try a simple regular reset(Back+Up) and see if it recognizes your zune now.
