2.5 trouble ><

Ok so I did my searching, did not find a answer, well I did but it did not work.

I'm getting pretty pissed being this is my 2nd mp3 player last one was a POS that cost 280 and broke in a month.

SO MY SOB STORY.

I got a zune.

when I try to install 2.5 when it says preparing computer at 99% it stops.

Im in Iraq right now so getting on the internet (which is VERY slow) is already a pain in the ass. and it pretty lame I can't listen to tunes.

Thanks for any advice, once again if I'm bringing up a common issue, my mistake thanks.

FYI this is what I have

80gig zune
trying to install 2.5 (the file i got from a diffirent computer)
I have a dell inspirson 9400 with xp

Ive tryed turning on firewall, turning it off, I think my windows is outdate via the updates, my comp until has not been online for about 8 months, I did go to update windows and got my system updated, but it only DLd like 2 programs and took a fews mins, so that didnt seem right.

I just installed the szip25 and the 2.0 network

it starts up for like 1 sec, then crashes and says somthing about sycning

**** ZUNE.

Try this:
Crash on Start

1.) Turn-off the compatibility mode for Zune if you had it on. This is essential here in order to verify the effectiveness of this.

2.) Follow the steps in the following KB Article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929642 and although the KB article doesn't really mention this crash issue, it should address the problem. Please be sure to note the possible consequences regarding content licenses mentioned in there. Also in step (d) Internet Explorer should be running as Administrator.

3.) After successfully performing all steps in the KB, try to start Zune again (with compatibility mode turned off).

This is what has happen so far.

I reinstalled szip2.5 and the network 2.5

installing it I got these two errors.

"error 1406 could not write value install geoid"

then I got this one

"the zune is recovering from a error, and needs to ressamle your collection you need to reconfig your device relantionship sync group and pod cast subscriptions"

A. I have never touched my zune
B I dont have any pod casts,

SO the program opened and I put my music in it and now, my computer doesnt detect my zune.

So the software is working now correct?
Try doing a reset on your zune(Back+Up) or reinstalling your drivers.

I just plugged the zune into my buddies comp he doesnt have anything installed, but it does pick it up.

scrap, If I touch anything on my zune device all it says in www.zune.com/setup or somthing retarded.

install what drivers? windows?

Not Windows, your zune driver. Check the Device Manger on your computer. You may be missing the Zune driver so here's a link to it.
Also, just try the regular reset(Back+Up), it usually solves these type of problems.

This is just never ending.

That link doesnt work, the file just doesnt download, prolly cuz Im on a werid IP address.

On your Zune, press the Back button and press Up on the zune pad at the same time.
Also, I checked the link and download and it works for me.

Unplug your Zune
Use control panel and remove all zune software
Download/run UnZoone (link in my sig)
Reboot
Download/install the software directly from the Zune.net website
After install plug your Zune back in
