Default zune music folder structure?

i was just wondering how the zune handles folders. i realize that the actual music browsing on the device is id3, not folder, but does the hard drive keep the folder structure in which it was copied?

for example, i sort my music by albums, because i have a lot of mixtapes/compliation albums

so if i have

album 1:
song1/artist1
song2/artist2

i realize that on the zune, i can sort by either album or artist to find the song
but if my computer folder structure is album1/song1.mp3

will it keep the "album1/" structure on the hard drive, or will it create an artist1/ and artist2/ folder by itself on the zune?

the reason i ask is because i would like to use the hd hack to quickly check how 'current' my zune is, by the last album folder added, and i would also like to be able to easily transfer these albums off the zune without having each song in a different locations

can anyone shed some light?

Sorry if I don't exactly answer you question, but this is what I get from your post...
You have an album, like a mixtape, with several artists, and you want to know if in the music folder on the zune, it would display such as album or by artists?
If so, then it displays the music on the zune as artists, so it would split the folder into different folders based on the artist not the album/album artist

well, i understand how it *displays* the folders--by artist, by album, etc.

but what i wanna know, is how it resides on the hd, in folders: i wanna know if the zune creates its own internal folder structure and sorts songs into that when they are added to the zune

this would be problematic if i wanted to transfer stuff off the hd onto the computer, as mixtapes and such would be strewn about (not to mention i like sorting my music by album not artist)

Yeah, that's what I was saying, how it shows them on the Hd
That's how it is, Zune>Storage>Music>Artist Names, not albums
There is an Album Folder, but it's only a file with the artwork, you could select Properties and it would show a list of the songs in the album

so once transferred to the zune, all previous album structure is destroyed and it becomes impossible to retreieve a various artists/mixtape album off the hd?

Basically yea, the previous album structure is destroyed and as I said split into different artists, so yes....

well that sucks....i need a large capacity (over 60) player, and the zune looked great, but this is a big drawback
